Baby Shower – The Nest

DSC_0044.JPG

I love this client! She let’s me create to my heart’s content!!! She gave me the theme for the shower, ‘Nest’. I took it from there. I pulled this branch off the side of the road from of pile of recently cut branches. I hung it from her ceiling in the dining room over the table with heavy wire covered in brown raffia. I glued mood moos, rain deer moss and nests on it. I then added the birds. The birds are from Michael’s but I embellished them with extra long feathers for more drama. I also added fishing line to a few of the birds beaks with crystals dangling at the ends. These birds wanted to make their nests extra beautiful! And if you have ever dissected a birds real nest you will find the most unusual things in them.

I love this arrangement. The Gerber Daisies with the dark centers are my favorite! The pearls are from my mom and are vintage, thought they added something fun!

The cheese tower. I have had this forever! I use it often for parties and is the perfect display for cheese and such. I have used parchment paper as a liner but in this case I used a stone sample from an interior design job. I broke it into pieces and is the perfect ‘tray’ for the cheese and crackers.

The party favors… Salt scrubs – lemon, lavender and peppermint. Simple ball canning jars, with spray painted tops and a “G” stamp, the initial of the mom to be. Add a little porcelain spoon and a vibrant green ribbon! This is also a great activity to do at a baby or bridal shower. Set up a table outside and show the guests how to make their own.

I set up a foot soak, scrub and massage station on the clients back deck. Perfect way for anyone to relax! The mom-to-be had her father and her husband there as well, and the men where the first to get massages! They loved it.

More birds on a branch. These branches I spray painted white and I really dressed up the birds!
